Esther Hicks / Oprah / The Secret – The Big Picture

Here are video and audio segments offering a very
interesting take on Esther Hicks being written out of The Secret.

I am still a fan of the movie, but I do believe that there
is so much more to it than what was originally presented. Many of the teachers
are even moving beyond The Secret,
Joe Vitale’s new books
Zero Limits
and The
Key
(which I
have a contributed chapter
), Jack Canfield’s The
Success Principles
. There will likely be more movies that expand on
these ideas. The Secret opens people
eyes to stop creating their lives by default and start intending new ideas. If
you have been a reader of this blog you know that deciding to be a more
creative force in your own life will open up new feelings and life experiences
(not something The Secret goes into).
By intending bigger and better things for yourself, everything that is not in
alignment with the new visions will come up for airing and release. Usually in
the form of feelings, but also situations that test your resolve to this new
life will also come up. All of it is of your creation in response to your new
beliefs (and your old beliefs).

The Secret is the first step of many ongoing steps to
personal responsibility in your own creative vision. The value of The Secret is, a huge and widely
dispersed audience was ready for the material, ravenously watched it, embraced
it, and are applying the principles. I am not sure the millions who have
watched it and read the book would have been able to handle the “woo woo”
channeling aspect that the Hicks brought. Oprah even said on her radio
interview with Esther Hicks that her television audience isn’t ready for the
channeling of Abraham.

It is all in divine order; the Hicks have received
tremendous increase in visibility (which they rightly deserve) and the information
is out there in a big way which is fantastic for the individuals that are
discovering the power they hold in their thoughts. And great for the
improvement of global consciousness (see yesterday’s post: How We
Create Our Reality
). I highly recommend a couple of books by Esther
and Jerry Hicks, one of the best is Ask
and It Is Given
and of course The
Law of Attraction
(which really
is The Secret).

Here is the video of
Abraham/Esther discussing The Secret:

How We Create Our Reality

I had a moment of clarity recently; I had just turned a
corner and a man riding a bike fell right there on the sidewalk as I witnessed
it. He didn’t fall horribly (he got up a little shaken and brushed himself off
and rode away) but it was sudden and shocking as those things are. I was
curious why I witnessed that. While I don’t think I “made” him fall, I do
understand now that we co-created the moment. I wanted to explore this further,
so pulled over the car.

I took a moment and looked inside and what that moment
triggered was a sense of violence. What I saw was the part of my unconscious
limbic brain that somehow appreciated violence. As I looked deeper, I witnessed
the larger scale violence in the world then saw that same energy of violence in
me. I felt, at a deep level, a oneness with this group agreement regarding
violence, and again saw it in myself and felt a sense that we are all one. I
believe that we are all connected, kind of like the Pando (Trembling
Giant) Quaking Aspen Grove in Utah, that is actually one huge tree that is part
a system of “treeness.”

In that moment I saw, that because I am part of everything I
have a hand in creating all of it (including violence). What comes into my radar
or within my purview is a personal creation. As I look within I can really see
the energy that I commit to creating everything in my life. I can see the
strings of attachment that project out from me making things, thoughts, and
beliefs real.

As I explored within myself how I felt about violence and
wars and crime, I saw the strings of my personal deep seeded unconscious
beliefs move into the world and attach to violent “things” and events. I then
saw thousands of other strings attached from other minds that in aggregate made
the picture whole (a hologram), life a Renoir painting all the individual dots
together form a picture.

In each day since that first exploration of violence, when I
have a moment of frustration or an angry outburst I immediately do my inner
work, and recognize the violence that is within me. I see how my emotions and
infrastructure of beliefs can show up in the world and result in, that ass
cutting me off, or that person at the grocery story being unpleasant, or even
the war. As I acknowledge and recognize these strings of belief manifesting and
creating my reality, and shift those feelings, changing my mind, I witness my
belief string disengaging. When I
observed this internal vision of my personal belief string releasing, I also
noticed others were disrupted into disengagement (like a pyramid of apples, if
you remove one from the middle, the rest either settle into a new configuration
or fall).

If, my postulation of “we are all one” is true, then if my
string of belief disengages then it causes a ripple effect on the whole. My
release of my feelings and beliefs around violence allows an easing of the
tension of the whole. That is the 100th
monkey theory
and Car Jung’s collective
unconsciousness
theory in action. Our own internal work resolving our part
in the resonant global beliefs and extreme emotional energies can change the
whole. Each of us plays a part and the more we take personal responsibility for
our internal beliefs and feelings and change those, the greater the opportunity
for achieving critical mass and sudden shifts for peace (the cautionary tale is
that same critical mass is also applicable to war).

You Are Valuable

You are valuable… take that in. You are important, for real.
How does that feel inside of you? Do you believe it? If you do then FANTASTIC
and acknowledge yourself with large pats on the back for seeing the value that
is you.

For those of you that still struggle with this (even those
of us who know and can appreciate our value have days and moments when that is
not the case), consider this: your very breath is sustaining all the plants on
the earth, they feed on CO2. So the next time you are not feeling worthy
just take a breath.

Joe Vitale’s New Book About Releasing And Opening to Your Dreams (And I’m In It!)

I have exciting news. Joe Vitale featured teacher in The
Secret
and recognized visionary (especially with his new book called Zero
Limits
) invited me to contribute a chapter to his new book, coming out in
the fall, called The
Key
.
Here is the book
description:Cover_2

The
Key
will reveal the missing secret for attracting wealth, health, success,
happiness or anything else. It builds on the work in Joe Vitale’s bestselling
book, The Attractor Factor, and goes beyond the hit movie The Secret,
which costars Vitale.

The
premise of The Key is unless a person “gets clear” of the limiting
beliefs inside themselves, they will continue to push away the very things they
say they want. Vitale says there are counter-intentions within a person that
attract what they don’t want rather than what they do want. In The Key
he will reveal ten proven ways to remedy the situation and end self-sabotage
forever.

Joe is offering proven ways to clear and release the old
beliefs, and caked on energy debris to open you up to the flow of your dreams.
My chapter offers two exercises to clear your body of these old thoughts and
traumas.

Imagine being cleared of this old “crap,” as I have mentioned
before in this blog, when we make big decisions and go for big dreams anything that
is not in alignment with these new energies will show up for release. The
techniques in my chapter and the other content in Joe’s book offer ways to
clear this. This is a key piece to opening to the flow of abundance. There is
no get rich quick model using The Secret, it is an internal process that takes
work and dedication. It takes listening to your inner guidance and nudges of
intuition and acting on those. At each step there are opportunities to release
anything (feelings, mind chatter, old habits) that are still in the way. Look
for those energy blocks, don’t judge them, but feel them. Acknowledge them;
thank them for showing up and in love release.

I am thrilled and honored to be a part of Joe’s book. If you
are interested in my work check out a description of one such exercise on my
web site
. I also walk clients through a deeper process with hands on
healing techniques through in person and on–the-phone sessions.

My book, The Big Book
of You
will be coming out at around the same time. It is also available
for pre-order

Visualization Techniques From Jack Canfield

Jack Canfield featured Star of The Secret and co-founder of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Franchise
(who also endorsed my mini movies
and book The Big Book of You ) wrote
an amazing article offering a step-by-step guide to visualizing your dreams. I
think this is powerful because it puts you into several perspectives of your
vision likely stimulating several neural pathways.

My consistent advice is to feel the feelings of having what
you want during this process. Not a “lottery wining” type feeling but the real
deal; you now live this live, what does that feel like in your body, in your
mind and in your soul? Thanks Jack for this great insights!

Visualize
and Affirm Your Desired Outcomes: A Step-by-Step Guide

You
have within you an awesome power that most of us have never been taught to use.
Elite athletes use it. The super rich use it. And peak performers in all fields
are now starting to use it. That power is called visualization. The daily
practice of visualizing your dreams as already complete can rapidly accelerate
your achievement of those dreams. Visualization of your goals and desires
accomplishes four very important things.

1. It activates your creative subconscious which will
start generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.

2. It programs your brain to more readily perceive and
recognize the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.

3. It activates the law of attraction, thereby drawing
into your life the people, resources, and circumstances you will need to
achieve your goals.

4. It builds your internal motivation to take the
necessary actions to achieve your dreams.

Visualization
is really quite simple. You sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and
imagine — in as vivid detail as you can — what you would be looking at if the
dream you have were already realized. Imagine being inside of yourself, looking
out through your eyes at the ideal result.

Mental Rehearsal

Athletes
call this visualization process “mental rehearsal,” and they have been using it
since the 1960s when we learned about it from the Russians. All you have to do
is set aside a few minutes a day. The best times are when you first wake up,
after meditation or prayer, and right before you go to bed. These are the times
you are most relaxed. Go through the following three steps:

1. Imagine sitting in a movie theater, the lights dim, and
then the movie starts. It is a movie of you doing perfectly whatever it is that
you want to do better. See as much detail as you can create, including your
clothing, the expression on your face, small body movements, the environment
and any other people that might be around. Add in any sounds you would be
hearing — traffic, music, other people talking, cheering. And finally, recreate
in your body any feelings you think you would be experiencing as you engage in
this activity.

2. Get out of your chair, walk up to the screen, open a
door in the screen and enter into the movie. Now experience the whole thing
again from inside of yourself, looking out through your eyes. This is called an
“embodied image” rather than a “distant image.” It will deepen the impact of
the experience. Again, see everything in vivid detail, hear the sounds you
would hear, and feel the feelings you would feel.

3. Finally, walk back out of the screen that is still
showing the picture of you performing perfectly, return to your seat in the
theater, reach out and grab the screen and shrink it down to the size of a
cracker. Then, bring this miniature screen up to your mouth, chew it up and
swallow it. Imagine that each tiny piece — just like a hologram — contains the
full picture of you performing well. Imagine all these little screens traveling
down into your stomach and out through the bloodstream into every cell of your
body. Then imagine that every cell of your body is lit up with a movie of you
performing perfectly. It’s like one of those appliance store windows where 50
televisions are all tuned to the same channel.

When
you have finished this process — it should take less than five minutes — you
can open your eyes and go about your business. If you make this part of your
daily routine, you will be amazed at how much improvement you will see in your
life.

Create Goal Pictures

Another
powerful technique is to create a photograph or picture of yourself with your
goal, as if it were already completed. If one of your goals is to own a new
car, take your camera down to your local auto dealer and have a picture taken
of yourself sitting behind the wheel of your dream car. If your goal is to
visit Paris, find a picture or poster of the Eiffel Tower and cut out a picture
of yourself and place it into the picture. With today’s technology, you could
probably make an even more convincing image using your computer.

Create a Visual Picture and an Affirmation
for Each Goal

We
recommend that you find or create a picture of every aspect of your dream life.
Create a picture or a visual representation for every goal you have —
financial, career, recreation, new skills and abilities, things you want to
purchase, and so on.

When
we were writing the very first Chicken Soup for the Soul® book, we took a copy
of the New York Times best seller list, scanned it into our computer, and using
the same font as the newspaper, typed Chicken Soup for the Soul into the number
one position in the “Paperback Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous” category. We
printed several copies and hung them up around the office. Less than two years
later, our book was the number one book in that category and stayed there for
over a year!

Index Cards

We
practice a similar discipline every day. We each have a list of about 30-40
goals we are currently working on. We write each goal on a 3×5 index card and
keep those cards near our bed and take them with us when we travel. Each
morning and each night we go through the stack of cards, one at a time, read
the card, close our eyes, see the completion of that goal in its perfect
desired state for about 15 seconds, open our eyes and repeat the process with
the next card.

Use Affirmations to Support Your
Visualization

An
affirmation is a statement that evokes not only a picture, but the experience
of already having what you want. Here’s an example of an affirmation:

I am happily vacationing 2 months out of the
year in a tropical paradise, and working just four days a week owning my own
business.

Repeating
an affirmation several times a day keeps you focused on your goal, strengthens
your motivation, and programs your subconscious by sending an order to your
crew to do whatever it takes to make that goal happen.

Expect Results

Through
writing down your goals, using the power of visualization and repeating your
affirmations, you can achieve amazing results. Visualization and affirmations
allow you to change your beliefs, assumptions, and opinions about the most
important person in your life — YOU! They allow you to harness the 18 billion
brain cells in your brain and get them all working in a singular and purposeful
direction.

Your
subconscious will become engaged in a process that transforms you forever. The
process is invisible and doesn’t take a long time. It just happens over time,
as long as you put in the time to visualize and affirm, surround yourself with
positive people, read uplifting books and listen to audio programs that flood
your mind with positive, life-affirming messages.

Repeat
your affirmations every morning and night for a month and they will become an
automatic part of your thinking — they will become woven into the very fabric
of your being.

Focus on Money or Life?

There is a lot of talk in new consciousness communities
about money. How to make it how to manifest it, how to intend it, how to, how
to, how to. Interestingly one of the tenets of the Law of Attraction is not focusing
on “the how” but get a feeling sense of what you want, and feel it.

The challenge of manifesting something big is if you have no
previous template, you therefore have no feeling sense about something you have never had. So
what to do?

Well intend to feel the feelings of feeling what it feels
like to have the life of your dreams. Ok that was a little confusing. Let me
rephrase that. If you have never had a multi million dollar lifestyle and you now intend and want
it, a key way to achieve it is to feel what it feels like deep in your soul to
have it. In my experience, by doing that, you will start to have life
experiences that deliver that feeling sense to you. You will create experiences
that allow you to have a deeper felt sense of having money and that life dream.
So now you have a template of feeling to build on.

I think it is important to know that the feeling is a new
muscle that you have to develop and grow. Along those lines many of us have
deep seated issues around money, the actual green stuff. I have found that by
focusing on my dream life, I have had more success in the feeling part of it
and I have create some amazing things that have allowed me to continue to
strengthen my feeling muscle to then attract more. I have found it helps to focus on the following (instead
of focusing specifically on money):

· the lifestyle

· the kinds of people that are surrounding me
(what is their essence)

· the home I might have (what do I feel like living there, what does a "day in the life" look like?)

· the feelings I have as I am working at something
I love doing (not focused too much on the actual “job”… you don’t really know
what it is you will be doing)

· achieving work life balance etc.

Given my dysfunctional belief systems about money, when I
focus on money as a visualization activity I have had really mixed results. My
postulation is, at least for me, until I get to these dysfunctional money
beliefs I am going to instead focus on the things I do believe; my talents, my
work ethic, my ability to manifest a fun interesting life , then trust the
money will follow. So far it seems to be working I have manifested some truly
remarkable things.

Tithing

The only thing I have done that is allowing me to have a new
more positive relationship with money is tithing. Edwene
Gaines
wrote an amazing book about tithing and I had the privilege of
participating in her workshop. The idea is giving back to where you are spiritually
feed. That could be a speaker, a blogger, a waitress your church or spiritual community
or anyone the moves you spiritually. The idea is to give back 10% to the
spiritual part of you, the ultimate show of gratitude. In fact I just decided I
am going to tithe to Edwene, she helped me so much with this.

The day of her workshop someone came up to me at the half
way mark and handed me a check as a thank you for spiritually feeding them. That
was the truest affirmation of the power of tithing, minutes before I had made a
“pinky swear” with two other dear friends that we were going to try tithing 10%
for 6-months, and then I received this check.

Each time I tithe it is a process; as I write the check and
then feel the gratitude that I have the money to give and trust that its is a energetic
field of gratitude that I am creating to bring more things into my life to be grateful
for. I just feel so amazing afterward. Money as gratitude is a concept that
works for me. My life has changed pretty dramatically since I started tithing.

I do believe that some people don’t have these same issues with
money that I have and can simply focus on money and create it… they will likely
have other things that aren’t as “easy” to manifest that they need to find a “work
around” for.

This whole post was “manifested” through the following post
by Bradley
Woods
over at his
Conceive, Believe, Achieve Blog. I
think this is a great excersise:

Six Steps To Turn Desire Into Gold

Thinkandgrowrichaction1_2

1. Determine
the exact amount of money you desire

2. Determine
what you intend to give in return for this money.

3. Establish
a definite date by which you intend to possess all this
money.

4. Create
a definite plan for achieving your desire and begin immediately to
take action.

5. Write
out a statement of the time limit, what you intend to give, and
describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate this money.

6. Read
your written statement aloud twice a day, in the morning and evening.
Put all the emotion you can behind this as you begin to see yourself
clearly in the possession of what you desire
.

END

I commented about my struggles with focusing on the financial
aspect of this and Bradley’s return comment on his blog was:

“I
didn’t post these steps just for intending money. These six steps can help you
to get anything. I use the word money here loosely to describe your own dreams
and desires. It was never my desire to put money on a pedestal. You bring up an
important point Jennifer. You obviously have to know what you want before you
can ever achieve it but the emotion you put behind this intention is also very
important.”

I think this exercise is worth a try and perhaps even using
it with the money aspect… let’s see how I do with my internal beliefs!

The Creative Force of The Truth Through Judgment

The truth, what is that? We experience the truth from our
unique perspective of the world. One person’s truth could be another person’s
lie. The truth can also be somewhat malleable, especially if life’s lessons
force us to change our minds. Through life’s challenges and lessons, the angle
of our perception can change and what we thought was the truth might actually
adjust with circumstances.

The_truth_3
The diagram to the left is is my version of an illustration
of these variances of “the truth.” Our
lives can be seen as journeys from judgment to truth and back to judgment
again. We judge… that is what we as human beings do. Animals and plants don’t
judge in the same way humans do, they just “are.” We judge in many ways, we
declare, “the sky is blue,” or “your skin is a different color,” and “that a
dog is a dog.” We can also assess and judge the events or relationships we
experience from a positive or negative perspective. Those less positive
judgments might lead us into darker emotions and even create fear, eventually
moving us away from the truth or on the other hand may even move us back to a
new version of the truth we are ready to experience.

The idea is that we constantly move from judgment then back
to what we may experience as the truth in that moment. More importantly that
movement is life in its own cycle of creation and destruction, involution and
evolution, expansion and contraction. When we find “the truth,” that version of
the truth then becomes the platform upon which we view the world. That “truth” leads
us to compare and contrast which in itself is inherently a judgment and the
process circles around upon itself. The
opportunity is to use these moments of life to move through to the next.
Looking through the potential judgment and seeing that there is something more
wonderful on the horizon that you never imagined possible.

Darkness is God as is
the light

The process is similar to moving from the light to the dark,
it is the Yin and Yang process. From this perspective and to further illustrate
the premise of my book (The Big Book of You), it can be said that; darkness is God as is the light.
Through the light we become aware that there is dark. The borders of the dark
become a landmark or a contrast to see and align with the light and reflect to
us what living in the light means. In essence one can’t understand what the
light is unless there is darkness to make the light known. Similarly judgment
in its negative sense is the juxtaposition of the truth and the lessons of
judgment can actually lead us back to the truth, it is a necessary piece of the
puzzle. You know what you want by contrasting it to what you don’t want.

It is judgment and fear that create the chains that bind us.
However, if we have a clearer understanding that judgment, and the fears that
arise out of that judgment, are useful and can assist us in finding healing for
old unresolved issues, we can live a life that has more faith, light and trust.
Eventually we have the opportunity to explore our judgments and fears without
moving too far away from the truth (our truth), each time we explore our
individual perspectives on the world we have the choice to stay closer to the
“boundary of truth” (as illustrated in the diagram) or move further into
judgment. It is creative extremism; it takes a creative exploration into the
extreme reaches of judgment or darkness in order to find a middle ground or
better yet, the extreme reaches of happiness.
