Are you in Ego or in Love?

I was doing an exploration of the ego… how do I know when I
am working from ego or when I am working from love. Here is what I got:

The Ego Is:

Love/God is:

Expectant

Trusts and knows

Needs

Allows

Seeks attention

Listens

Judges

Forgives (through being present and in the moment)

Fears

Appreciates

Blames

Guides and acknowledges

Pushes into the world

Receives and embraces the world

Isolates / frenetic

Is clear and smooth

Is disruptive

Is balanced

Disappointment

Acceptance peace and trust

Surviving

Thriving

Ok so now I am in ego, how do I find my way back to love?
Here is a quick exercise:

Ask yourself; is it true? Is what I am feeling and the
beliefs behind those feelings true? Then give yourself the opportunity to explore
the opposite of those feelings as listed on the chart. Then, using the Ho’oponopono model, thank
yourself for allowing this belief to seep into your consciousness, forgive
yourself for having the belief, and simply love yourself for the gift that your
are, and for being the you that is willing to work at this level of evolvement
and consciousness.

    Jennifer,
Thank-you for providing a great exercise in awareness.

OMG-I’ve been in and out of ego my entire life.

  3. Kevin, we all have!!

OK thanks, I meant I’ve been mostly in and didn’t realize and now I’m trying to stay out as much as possible. I was taken by the play on words in your post title, since most of the time I thought I was ‘in love’ I was just ‘in ego’, and so in the end, a total bummer was had by all.

  5. Are you in Ego or in Love?

simple but profound article about the contrast of ego mentality vs. a love based mentality

This exercise reminds me of the Course In Miracles philosophy; certainly intertwined. Having the freedom to explore the opposite of positive – and not fear that exploration – is growth indeed. I believe that things sometimes have to be taken to the other extreme (albeit removed) to strike a healthy balance of truth. Seems like Jung and Marianne’s Course had a strange meeting of the minds.
    Great stuff here. As always.
