I had a wonderful time chatting with tonight’s guest, Brian Vaszily (pronounced vay zlee).
We talked about his highly successful audio program, 9 Intense Experiences, and what they mean to us all.
9 Intense Experiences gets you to focus on not only where you place your thoughts, but also where you focus your energy on any given day.
Brian talked about how most of us don’t spend every waking moment focusing on maintaining our positive thinking; we actually spend most of our time “doing something“. And what we’re doing is either watching TV or shopping. So, when we look at the results in our lives, we oftentimes become frustrated.
He also used a twist on the metaphor, “You are what you eat“. Brian said that we’re not only affected by the foods we eat, but we’re also affected by the things we put in our heads and our minds.
We’re spending too much of our energy on “mediocrity“, and we were prompted to ask ourselves these questions…
What am I feeding my soul?
Is what I’m doing expanding or contracting me?
Brian also talked about poisoned valves. Things that portray life as being worse than it really is. Things like news broadcasts, Hollywood movies and TV programs. He suggested that we identify the poisoned valves in our lives, including people, that are bringing us down and draining us of our energy.
9 Intense Experiences is designed to help us shut down these valves.
We learned that trying to will our way through negatives emotions doesn’t negate the underlying emotions such as sadness, for example. He used these metaphors to help us better cope with life’s little snags…
- Happiness is like water. It allows the beautiful things to occur, and it teaches us how to rearrange our flow pattern whenever a challenge presents itself.
- If a child burned himself on a hot stove, they’ll cry. But 5 minutes later, he’d be off playing again. They’re much more resilient and quicker to learn from their “mistakes” than adults are.
Brian talked about a study that was done on nursing home residents where the observations showed that people who did the same thing over and over again, lived shorter lives.
We were encouraged to breakdown a typical day and honestly to look for any repetitive behaviors like listening to the same music or watching the same TV programs.
Life is constantly giving us reminders of how wonderful life really is and who we really are, but most of us are busy not celebrating the positive intense experiences in our lives.
Most of us are shaken up by the negative intense experience, and we don’t use them to bring us back to the right path.
He mentioned that “loneliness is an epidemic” in today’s culture and spoke of the book, Loneliness written by Dr. John Cacioppo and William Patrick which speaks of “human nature and the need for social connection”
We’re experiencing less depth in our modern day points of contact because we’re choosing to communicate in ways that don’t really require us to “get to know one another“. We’re too busy social networking without truly connecting.
The 9 Intense Experiences are strategies used by people who are remarkably happy with their lives.
- Experience 1: Journey Back to Neverland Considerably more than most of the other experiences, the actions you will take in this fun and transformative Journey Back to Neverland will have you delving into movies, music, classic toys and games and more related to this wonder-ful experience.
- Experience 2 – Dive Deeper Into Your Blood While Enjoying a Glass of Wine Through the 11 actions in this experience, you will be amazed at what you discover about yourself, and the positive changes it inevitably leads to in your life.
- Experience 3 – Wander Into the Forest, But Don’t Bump Into the Trees If you are a nature buff, you will definitely benefit from this experience. If you are NOT a nature buff, you will definitely benefit from this experience even more. Make a tree your new BFF and tell it all your guilty secrets. Trees are great examples of how to “just be”. They’re non-judgmental and flexible to change. “Confessing” to your tree will give you energy and open you to the answers you need.
- Experience 4: Surround Yourself with Wise Owls and Let Them Teach You Seek out and learn from the elders in your life.
- Experience 5 – Go On a Spiritual Quest. Pack Lightly Spirituality is not something you “get to,” it is the essence of who you already ARE. By taking these interesting to profound actions to reveal and nurture it, it will rapidly lead you to the greatness that really IS inside you (and you KNOW it is!)
- Experience 6 – Reveal Yourself to a Dozen Strangers Immersing yourself in the actions in this “Strangers” experience can quickly and permanently improve your life by leaps and bounds: anyone and everyone you know and love now who has positively impacted your life in some way was once a what? A stranger, of course. Your spouse / significant other, your friends, even in a sense your parents, siblings and children were all once strangers, and now they are among what matters most in your world.
- Experience 7 – Swaddle Yourself in Beautiful Genius As with Experience 1, you’ll delve into more music, films, reading, and other media related to this mind- and life-altering experience than with the other experiences… and you’ll discover that you really are a genius (even if you don’t believe that now one bit.)
- Experience 8 – Give Till It Tickles “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else,” said Booker T. Washington. Brian’s engaging guidance and the unique and enjoyable actions in this experience, you’ll discover that Booker T. Washington’s quote is an understatement!
- Experience 9 – Embrace Death and Dance the Night Away In modern society, people run and hide from the fact of death … but as you’ll discover in this moving introduction to this experience, that ironically causes people to live far less rich and rewarding lives than they should be.
This was really a fantastic call, and I highly recommend you get Brian’s audio program, 9 Intense Experiences, to experience transformative shifts in your life.
