We had the remarkable ever committed and passionate Marianne Williamson on Healing With the Masters this past week.
Marianne talked about the two ways of being in the world, seeing it as 1) lack and grabbing what you can, a world dominated by fear OR 2) opening your heart and seeing the love in yourself and in the world.
She said the genuine spiritual path is a systematic dismantling of our perceptions of fear and moving into a consistent practice of prayer and meditation.
She also very generously agreed to deliver on of her prayers… she is renowned for offering the most directed and heartfelt prayers. So here is her prayer for love:
"Dear God, we know that only love is real. We know that love is who we are. And yet dear God at times we do not feel that way. And so each of us now surrender to you every thought and every feeling, everything we have and everything that we are. We open our minds as never before. We ask that your spirit now illumine our thinking. May every thought of fear now turn to love. May every thought of weakness now turn to strength. May every thought of blame now turn to blessing. May every withhold now turn to giving. May every false belief now turn to truth. Dear God, we surrender to you every aspect of our lives that our thoughts about our aspect now shall be lifted above and beyond the confines of thought and limitation and narrowness and fear of the past. Dear God, please purify my heart, purify my mind, that I might begin again. And so it is we say."
