I always learn so much about the other side whenever the incredibly talented psychic medium John Holland comes to Healing with the Masters.
Right off the bat, I asked John what the difference was between being a psychic and a medium? He said that a psychic receives the information from our past, present, and future while a medium receives the information from the other side (other spirits, etc.). John said that when he’s doing a reading, the spirits choose him, not the other way around. They use him to get the message that they want delivered by any means. Meaning, any open channel is a portal for them to communicate with their loved ones still on Earth. He said that the other side is like our world, but more vibrant and vivid. Unlike here, there are no regrets after death.
Since we’re of the spirit world, we keep coming back because of the lessons we need to learn. What we do here will determine the level we go to on the other side. John said that it’s important to be connected while we’re here because Earth is what’s important, and we need to start our healing here.
Try to heal bad relationships while you’re still here. If your attempts to heal don’t work out, at least you can say you tried, and now you can move forward.
John talked about how he knew that he was different from others in his family. He said when you question more than what’s in front of you, then you too are the different one in your family. In order to accept your psychic abilities, you must first move from victim consciousness by honoring what shows up. When this happens, exponential growth occurs.
I asked John about the quickening that occurs when he’s doing a reading. John said he raises his energy when he connects with the other side, and the other side lowers their energy they’re at a higher vibration. When this connection happens, John said everything within his body seems to accelerate. This quickening also affects other things like tape recorders; the voices sound more like animated chipmunks, then everything quickly goes back to normal.
John’s new book, The Spirit Whisperer: Chronicles of a Medium, includes a section where John helps parents in raising sensitive/psychic children. He said children are born psychic, and this ability usually wanes around the age of 7 when the child is forced to think more from their left brain. John gave us a few signs of a sensitive child…
- They startle easily.
- They spend a lot of time alone.
- They have an active inner life.
- They have imaginary friends.
John also said that if our child tells us that they don’t like someone/see something/feel something, LISTEN! They often pick up on the subtle energy shifts that we’re too busy to notice. We should teach them how to turn down their chakras at bedtime, so they’re not always open; be reverent listeners when they’re telling us something; teach them how to care for themselves; and be supportive. We should also ask them about their imaginary friend(s) in a playful way to encourage them to embrace their psychic gifts.
John then talked about ADC (After Death Communication) or Heaven’s Calling Cards. He said whenever we’re contacted from the other side, we should stay grounded. If you’re thinking about someone, don’t try to explain something away if you’re shown a sign where that person’s name shows up, or your phone rings, and the caller ID is a deceased loved one’s number.
We talked a little about how someone can become a spirit whisperer, and John said it takes a certain person for this connection to happen. Spirit takes cues from us, and if we’re fearful of seeing dead people, or being contacted from the other side, they won’t contact us. They choose someone who’s genetic make up includes mediumship to deliver any messages to you.
I asked John to talk about The Seven Principles of Spiritualism, and he told us that they were channeled to a medium, Emma Hardinge, in 1871.
- The Fatherhood of God – honoring the creative force in the universe.
- The Brotherhood of Man – understanding the needs of others so we can be of greater service.
- Communion of Spirits and the Ministry of Angels – communication, through mediumship, to departed loved ones.
- Continuous Existence of the Human Soul – energy can’t be destroyed; it simply changes its form.
- Personal Responsibility – being accountable for all of our words and actions.
- Compensation and Retribution hereafter for all Good and Evil Deeds done on Earth – mirrors the Law of Cause and Effect.
- Eternal Progress open to every Human Soul – the spirit’s power to evolve to higher dimensions.
I asked John another question… “how can we forgive ourselves if we hurt someone and now they’re gone? John said that there aren’t any regrets on the other side, and we need to know that we’ve already been forgiven by them. Many of us aren’t in the space of receiving forgiveness which is why we beat ourselves up for wrongs we feel can’t be righted.
John offers a wealth of information when it comes to contacting the other side, and this was another great call!
